Koh Samui Airport is a unique and highly successful experiment in building an airport that is kind to both the cultural and natural environments of a tropical island resort. Flying in, you get brief glimpses of outlying islands, streaks of surf, the wakes of small fishing craft sketched across the calm aquamarine sea. Smudges of coral reef dapple the water as you come in closer still. Then the coast of Samui appears. Two hundred and fifty kilometres of tropical hideaway scalloped by dozens of bays rimmed in white sand, carpeted in lush textures of forested hill and coconut grove, Ko Samui is the centrepiece in a group of 80 other islands set in the Gulf of Thailand.

Bangkok Airways is the sole company which operates daily through flights on the island since 1988 and which possesses its own private airport.
Since recently, there is another company which lands on this airport and connects Samui to Kuala Lumpur: Pelangi Airways.

To buy a ticket :- To buy a flying ticket, you can go to a Bangkok Airways agency or to any travel agency (which takes a small commission on the price of the ticket), but advantage is that you do not need to move, because there is certainly one near your hotel.
In addition, you can simply easily book your flights online by the Bangkok Airways' site(see below)!
Samui Airport
Sight by arriving by plane on the island is worth a look because you land in the middle of a tropical vegetation and you have a magnificent sight on Big Buddha (15 metres high).
The airport is made from wooden houses and becomes completely integrated into the surrounding landscape, it has moreover been rewarded for its style and decoration.
Limousines or taxi?
Once you descent from the plane, a bus with several wagons picks you up and bring you to the baggage claim area.
Then there are private taxis (negotiate the fare before getting into them) or airport limousine service which will lead you on the way to the various beaches of the island. If you have already reserved a room in a hotel and advised of your time of arrival, a hotel staff will come pick you up.
